The visit begins outdoors: the park, medieval enclosure, inner courtyard, and first views over the Vézère. Depending on visitors’ preferences, the tour continues into the Renaissance residence. The furnished rooms, sculpted fireplaces, and grand staircase reflect the art of living of the families who shaped Losse. The discovery can be made independently with an audio guide or on a guided visit of about 45 minutes.
Then comes a leisurely walk through the gardens: shaded paths, trimmed beds, suspended terraces, and panoramic views over the Vézère. A peaceful, balanced route that highlights the harmony between architecture and nature.
Allow about 1.5 hours to fully enjoy the castle and gardens.

Overlooking the Vézère, Losse Castle is a Renaissance residence surrounded by medieval ramparts that are still visible. The regular façades, the large terrace, and the formal garden recreate the refined atmosphere of the noble houses of Périgord Noir.
The ensemble is completed by gardens awarded the Remarkable Garden label, impeccably maintained and offering open views over the valley and the surrounding woods. It is a harmonious, bright, and remarkably well-preserved place.
