You first enter the courtyard, among stone, towers, and old roof timbers, and take in the history of the château at a glance. The tour then leads you into the caves carved into the rock, remains of the Templar commandery, then into the former outbuildings and the renovated manor house, where the furnished rooms bear witness to past eras.
Throughout the visit, your guide recounts the transformations and restorations, highlighting the connection between the site and the surrounding area. At the end of the tour, the wooded, rolling landscape of the Green Périgord offers a view of the solitude and beauty of a preserved estate.

Owner Family of the Estate
Your host is the owner of Château de la Guionie. For several years, he has overseen the upkeep of the estate, the gradual restoration of the buildings, and the occasional opening of the château to the public.
His approach is simple: to share the history of the place by explaining what makes it unique and continuous. His presence gives the tour a warm, welcoming, and lively character.

Château de la Guionie, located in Lempzours in the heart of the Green Périgord, traces its roots to an old 12th-century Templar commandery. Reworked in the 17th and 18th centuries, it now combines medieval remains (caves carved into the rock) with a more residential architecture, typical of Périgord manor houses.
Towers, central manor house, and farm outbuildings, all nestled in a setting of woods and meadows: the site embodies the understated, authentic charm of a living rural heritage.
