Heritage details

As visitors enter the grounds of Beauvais Castle, they walk softly in the silent footsteps of centuries gone by.

On a vast estate of two hundred hectares, beneath the canopy of the 2-hectare park, one of the family’s heirs is already waiting, a thoughtful guide to a history woven with glorious adventures and enduring memories.

Owner-Manager

πŸ•ŠοΈ When Christine Durand de Maillard chose to open the doors of Beauvais Castle, she set out, without really knowing it, on a family adventure guided by love and loyalty to past generations.

It was in this very place, during an unexpected visit, that she met the man who would become her husband, sealing a union as symbolic as it was passionate, as if written into the very stones of the castle.

Today, surrounded by her five daughters, who are also committed to preserving this precious heritage, Christine watches over Beauvais with gentleness and determination.

πŸ“œ Her whole life is devoted to safeguarding this home, which, in the reassuring slowness of the centuries, continues to silently tell the stories of those who came before it.

πŸ—οΈ Through her stories and accounts, she reveals the grandeur of the place to visitors, making her the bearer of a memory that must not disappear.

πŸ’Œ You too can take part in this adventure and inscribe your name, discreetly but surely, in the castle’s history by supporting it on Demeure Historique :

The place

At the top of a hill, overlooking the valley of Lussas-et-Nontronneau, Beauvais Castle has stood watch for nearly eight centuries. Its history began in the 16th century, when the du Faure de La Roderie family raised this building on the ruins of an old Templar stronghold. Very quickly, the family, close to Henri de Navarre, earned its nobility through bravery and strategy. βš”οΈ Their rise propelled them among the great lineages of the kingdom.

Beauvais becomes a mirror of time. Listed as a historic monument, it has seen the centuries pass without losing any of its breath. πŸ•°οΈ An aristocratic residence, a stronghold of lords, a family refuge… It also preserves the memory of a grandfather who was a doctor and explorer, whose spirit and presence still inhabit the corridors.

Today, it stands there, impassive, dignified, silent, like a stone sentinel. Those who venture inside find not only ancient walls, but an inner voice, a living history, ready to be heard. πŸ›οΈ
