ποΈ When Christine Durand de Maillard chose to open the doors of Beauvais Castle, she unknowingly embarked on a family adventure guided by love and fidelity to past generations.
It was here, during an unexpected visit, that she met the man who would become her husband, sealing a union as symbolic as it was passionate, as though written into the very stones of the castle.
Today, surrounded by her five daughters, who are also committed to preserving this precious heritage, Christine watches over Beauvais with both gentleness and determination.
π Her entire life is devoted to safeguarding this home, which, in the reassuring slowness of the centuries, continues to silently tell the stories of those who came before it.
ποΈ Through her stories and accounts, she reveals the grandeur of the place to visitors, becoming the bearer of a memory that must not disappear.

At the top of a hill, facing the valley of Lussas-et-Nontronneau, Beauvais Castle has stood watch for nearly eight centuries. Its history began in the 16th century, when the du Faure de La Roderie family raised this building on the ruins of an old Templar stronghold. Very quickly, the family, close to Henry of Navarre, earned its nobility through bravery and strategy. βοΈ Their rise propelled them among the great lineages of the kingdom.
Beauvais becomes a mirror of time. Listed as a historic monument, it has seen centuries pass without losing any of its spirit. π°οΈ An aristocratic residence, stronghold of lords, family refugeβ¦ It also preserves the memory of a grandfather, physician and explorer, whose soul and presence still inhabit the corridors.
Today, it stands there, impassive, dignified, silent, like a stone sentinel. Those who venture there find not only ancient walls, but an inner voice, a living history, ready to be heard. ποΈ
