Astrid-Laure, +3 years of experience
Weaver
I was drawn to textiles at an early age, practising knitting, sewing, embroidery and dyeing as hobbies before taking up weaving.
I studied humanities at university in Paris, focusing on history and archaeology, where I was able to develop and deepen my interest in ancient fabrics, the symbolism of cloth, and broaden my knowledge of the history and archaeology of textiles.
I then retrained in the practical craft of weaving, completing professional training in weaving and textile creation in Lot-et-Garonne.
I later opened my own weaving workshop in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. My workshop is open to the public. There I offer different workshop and course formats with the aim of promoting traditional techniques and the practice of artisanal weaving (fabrics, wall hangings, rug and tapestry techniques, etc.).
The modules are organised around different types of looms in order to showcase the diversity of weaving and textile creation.
I also offer creative and educational workshops for children, designed to introduce them playfully to the world of textiles while helping to awaken their creativity.

ATELIER DES TISSAGES welcomes you in the 20th arrondissement of Paris for courses and workshops aimed at highlighting traditional techniques and the practice of hand weaving.
