Astrid-Laure, +3 years of experience
Weaver
I was drawn to textiles very early on, practising knitting, sewing, embroidery, and dyeing as hobbies before learning to weave.
I studied humanities at university in Paris, in the fields of history and archaeology, where I was able to develop and deepen my interest in ancient fabrics, the symbolism of cloth, and expand my knowledge of the history and archaeology of textiles.
I then retrained after my studies in the practical craft of weaving, following professional training in weaving and textile creation in Lot-et-Garonne.
I then opened my own weaving workshop in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. My workshop is open to the public. There I offer different workshop and course formats with the aim of reviving traditional techniques and the practice of artisanal weaving (fabrics, wall hangings, rug and tapestry techniques, etc.).
The sessions are structured around different types of looms in order to highlight the diversity of weaving and textile creation.
I also offer creative and educational workshops for children, designed to introduce them in a playful way to the world of textiles while helping to spark their creativity.

ATELIER DES TISSAGES welcomes you to the 20th arrondissement of Paris for courses and workshops aimed at reviving traditional techniques and the practice of artisanal weaving.
