Astrid-Laure, +3 years of experience
Weaver
I was drawn to textiles very early on, practicing knitting, sewing, embroidery, and dyeing as hobbies before discovering weaving.
I completed university studies in humanities in Paris, in the fields of history and archaeology, where I was able to develop and deepen my interest in ancient fabrics, the symbolism of cloth, and expand my knowledge of the history and archaeology of textiles.
After my studies, I turned to the hands-on practice of weaving by taking a professional training course in weaving and textile creation in Lot-et-Garonne.
I then opened my own weaving workshop in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. My workshop is open to the public. There I offer different workshop and course formats with the aim of promoting traditional techniques and the practice of artisanal weaving (fabrics, wall hangings, rug and tapestry techniques, etc.).
The modules are organized around different types of looms in order to highlight the diversity of weaving and textile creation.
I also offer creative and educational workshops for children, designed to introduce them in a fun way to the world of textiles while helping awaken their creativity.

ATELIER DES TISSAGES welcomes you to the 20th arrondissement of Paris for courses and workshops aimed at promoting traditional techniques and the practice of artisanal weaving.
