Special workshops are offered for anyone who wants to be introduced to metalworking.
The content of these workshops has been designed for people who want to learn the basics of the techniques for amateur use, or who are looking to improve their skills in certain areas.
You will enjoy a special moment and benefit from personalized guidance!
The artist’s technique consists of shaping iron through cutting, cold bending, and arc welding with electrodes.
This process makes it possible to create sculptures or large works such as gates, railings, stair handrails, as well as small decorative objects or furniture.
The finished piece can be polished, painted, patinated, or left raw.
During this introductory workshop for adults, you will:
- Learn to use the different professional tools safely,
- Discover, according to the rules of the art, the techniques of cutting, drilling, and bending the pieces,
- Learn the basics of arc welding with electrodes.
Please note that this is an introduction to ironwork; in 4 hours, the workshop is designed to give you a very accurate overview of metalworking as a whole.
For an initial introduction, the objectives are:
- To raise your awareness of the risks of the profession,
- To try to provide you with a clear and relevant theoretical foundation through practical exercises (cutting/bending/welding),
- To teach you the right postures and movements so you can practice the technique on your own in the best possible conditions.
For work more focused on welding, it is recommended to choose the longer 12-hour format, where all stages of the technique can be put into practice by making a steel stool.
The price of the 12-hour introductory workshop includes all three half-day sessions.
The booking allows you to schedule only the date of the first session.
Any following session must be arranged directly with the artist.
You will leave with a stool cut, bent, and welded by your own hands.
The raw materials and tools are provided.
⚠️ WARNING: this is not a fun, recreational experience.
There is a level of danger to take into account at every stage.
Ahtzic places the utmost importance on safety instructions and always begins his classes by explaining to participants the correct movements, postures, and safety standards that help reduce the risk of accidents as much as possible.
Your attention and listening are essential to ensure your safety and his.
As a result, he reserves the right to stop the workshop if these instructions are not respected.
The artist sets a minimum and maximum age for participants so that the workshop runs under the best conditions.
If you would like to offer this workshop to someone close to you, please take this information into account and make sure that the gift voucher recipient meets the required conditions for this activity.
Steel is a material to be worked with respect, caution, flexibility, a blend of gestures and thought, a little patience, and above all your creativity.
