Maison Lorgeril, +20 years of experience
Maison Lorgeril
At the Château de Pennautier, Maison Lorgeril opens a heritage site that is lived in and preserved. Guided tours of the Château de Pennautier, as well as self-guided visits of the park, continue the story of the estate, offering a careful discovery of a residence handed down through time.

The Château de Pennautier was built in 1620 by Bernard de Rech de Pennautier, treasurer of the Estates of Languedoc. His remarkable office required a residence worthy of his rank, and his castle had to be grand. In 1622, it hosted King Louis XIII, who gifted him his travel furniture. Today, the Château de Pennautier is listed as a Historic Monument.
Pierre-Louis de Pennautier, his son, a powerful and refined man, in turn held the office of treasurer of the Estates of Languedoc before becoming general receiver of the clergy of France, an even more significant role. Highly prominent, he commissioned Le Vau, architect of Versailles, to add the castle wings, and Le Nôtre to design the formal French gardens.
Witness to the great moments of history, the family has developed winegrowing and excellence over the centuries. Today, the château is an open door to the French art of living. Fully restored in 2009 and listed as a Historic Monument, it combines the beauty of the heritage and the region, the charm of a family home, and the modernity of a site perfectly suited to receptions and the most memorable events.
Remarkable for its size and location, the park reflects the evolution of styles, from the 17th-century formal French garden to the 19th-century English-style park. Partly restored in the 20th century, it retains many landscaped features and a 1.7 km walk.
Awarded the “Remarkable Garden” label and prize-winning in 2016 and 2017, it is also home to the family chapel. Respect for the land and the environment is at the heart of the de Lorgeril family’s commitment, through responsible viticulture certified High Environmental Value – level 3.
