Create Your Flame-Worked Glass Bead Jewelry
Verre2h1-1Differdange (Lot - 46)
Activity details

I invite you to experience a truly unique moment, where traditional know-how meets modern techniques, to create your own glass drops and beads using a torch. They can then be set with quality findings in silver, gold-plated silver, or gilded brass, to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. To give your creation a perfect finish, a beautiful presentation case will be offered to you.

Hot glass is a hypnotic and magical material.

Flame work is a fascinating and ancestral art form (recognized as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity).

To help you make the most of this time for yourself, and to approach the technique at your own pace, I favor personalized guidance. You will therefore be in a private workshop, to calmly create a unique piece you can be proud of!

I will explain the safety rules to be followed for an optimal workshop from start to finish. After demonstrating several basic techniques, I will support you throughout the workshop as you get hands-on.

We will try a few shapes, decorations, color blends, and more. You will then be able to choose your preferred technique to create your jewelry. Once your pieces have been placed in the kiln, we will take a well-earned friendly break with tea or coffee, giving you time to calmly choose the findings for your jewelry.

Finally, to ensure your beads are durable, they must and will be annealed in a professional kiln for several hours. You can collect them from 72 hours after the workshop.

Postal shipping is available at an additional cost, if you prefer that option.

Master artisan

My background has always been in the visual and artistic fields.

After a long professional career in decorative painting, and wishing to work with volume and objects through glass, I joined CERFAV (European Center for Research and Training in Glass Arts) in Lorraine.

That is how I came to work with glass, a transparent material, as a mirror and continuation of my graphic creations.

My years of training enabled me to learn several techniques, develop personal projects, and build my own creative world. Today, it unfolds in a sensitive universe that always resonates with the plant and animal worlds, and seeks to bring poetry into objects.

I use glass as a material of duality, between vulnerability and strength, fragility and immortality, transparency and the revelation of what is hidden.

Attached to drawing and engraving to enhance nature and animals, and to volume through glass sculpture, my work is also particularly focused on bespoke jewelry.

I am also a service provider and artistic facilitator for companies, associations, schools and social-cultural settings, as well as for private clients. A freelance glass engraver, I also work for major perfume and luxury houses.

Passionate about my artistic practice, and long involved in social, cultural, and community settings, I have always been committed to passing on my know-how to adults, teenagers, and children eager to learn and create.

I therefore offer workshops that will allow you to discover different techniques safely, get familiar with fire arts, and explore glass art techniques in personalized sessions.
