Marc, +40 years of experience
Sculptor
Marc Renaut is a self-taught sculptor whose journey, which began very early in wood, gradually expanded to bronze, marble, clay, glass, raku, and resins.
For more than forty years, he has been shaping a body of work attentive to the balance of forms, the force of materials, and what they allow to surface of feeling. Based in Provence, he develops at La Taupinière a personal world where rigor, freedom, and poetry meet.
For more than forty years, Marc Renaut has been exploring the expressive power of matter with sensitivity. Wood, marble, bronze, glass, raku, and resin become the languages of an artistic quest in which form emerges from the dialogue between hand and material.
His work reveals a subtle tension between strength and lightness, rigor and poetry. Each sculpture brings out the soul of the material, which he shapes with elegance to reveal its essential lines and inner vibration.
Through his works, the artist pursues a timeless quest: transforming raw material into a sensitive presence, where the simplicity of forms opens a space for contemplation and emotion.

The La Taupinière workshop is both Galka's workspace and an exhibition space dedicated to Marc Renaut's works. It is located in a small hilltop village in the Pays de Fayence.
