It was through my first profession that I discovered mosaic, 45 years ago now.
At the time, I was a yacht captain and travelled the Aegean Sea, Turkey, and Italy. During these journeys, I had the most beautiful ancient mosaics before my eyes - and under my fingers. I observed them at length, and the magic began to work, as the desire to create my own mosaics gradually took hold.
It was at that time that my first mosaics were created, and many others followed. From 2000 onward, I gradually reduced my time at sea so I could devote myself fully to my passion, and since 2012 I have been working and exhibiting my mosaics at the Atelier des Couronnes, in Seillans.
I like to work in the light of the large bay windows, but when the weather allows, I am happy to set up with the work in progress in front of the workshop, under the fig tree: the setting is pleasant, relaxing, and conducive to concentration.
